Good Sport: Ryan Braun
By Brian on Apr 22, 2008
Athletes behaving badly always generate a lot of media coverage. Athletes doing good often don’t. Brewers LF Ryan Braun donated the bonus he got for being named 2007 National League Rookie of the Year to Habitat for Humanity. Braun said,
I had an opportunity to go down there and participate in a project where Habitat for Humanity was building houses in San Pedro [Calif.]. I live in Los Angeles, so I went down there for a build project. The families who were moving into the houses were actually there. When I got an opportunity to meet them and see what an influence I had on their lives, it really moved me. It’s great to be in a position to have a chance to give back. It was the least I could do.
