Follow Up to Pine Ridge Church on NBC Nightly News

I posted some screen captures from tonight’s NBC Nightly News story about Pine Ridge Church in a set on Flickr. I also posted some commentary about each picture and some guesses about what the producer was trying to accomplish with the segment, which I generally thought was a fair treatment of the issues (see my previous post for my full review). I think my comments on this picture really capture the heart of the story:

Ross Horton“One of the underrated things about Pine Ridge is how welcoming we are to people with disabilities. This poor guy had a full cranial removal - as you can see, the docs drew a line around his forehead and above his ears and just lopped off everything above the line. Shame really. Now he just sits on the front row with a vacant expression, occasionally muttering random stuff that nobody understands. But the church has really welcomed him like one of our own. Pretty inspirational, really.”

  2. My good sweet Lord that was funny. My whole family was rolling on that one. Bruce Willis rules at Pine Ridge.
