After this week’s transactions, we have one additional piece of real estate and one fewer internal organ.

Monday night Gretchen started feeling ill.  Really ill.  Took her to the ER around midnight, and by 8am Tuesday her appendix was in a jar.  She’s recovering well (and big thanks to Mike, Sara, Allison, Jimmy, Katie, Kyle, Vince, Staci, Verna, Lisa, and others for the help and offers of help this week).

Tuesday afternoon we finally completed our purchase of a 2-bedroom townhouse in Sheridan Place near Elon’s campus.  I signed the paperwork at the attorney’s office then took it to Gretchen’s hospital room, where she signed it and had it notarized by one of the security guards.  What a woman.
