Quarterback Donny Kirby has committed to play at Elon…Kirby, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, picked Elon after also receiving offers from East Carolina, Duke and Bowling Green. Elon finished 3-8 last season but has a new coach in Pete Lembo, formerly of Lehigh. “The new coaching staff runs the same offense I ran at Landstown, and I’ve got a chance to play right away,” Kirby said. “The other places, it looked like I was going to sit for a year or two.” Kirby transferred to Landstown from Great Bridge for his senior season and threw for 3,601 yards and 40 touchdowns. He finished among the top five quarterbacks on South Hampton Roads lists for single-season and career passing yardage. He was first-team All-Tidewater.

Not sure if Elon has signed any other quarterbacks this recruiting season. Looks like Kirby can be a good one.
