The Gospel Has Its Way

Great thoughts from Scott McKnight about the gospel in postmodern culture:

I still think the issue is missional in the sense that the Emergent is trying to work out the gospel in a postmodern context – and that context exists and it is worth letting the gospel have its way in that context. (emphasis mine)

Some people try to pigeonhole the emergent conversation as selling out to the postmodern culture and just sprinkling a bit of God in there for window dressing, but the vast majority of the people I’ve encountered in the emergent conversation are pursuing the same path as Scott - letting the gospel have its way in our current cultural context, which is the call of God for every generation.

  1. Would you mind posting on your blog, or placing a link that explains the gospel as you see it? I see that word on here a lot, but have not, as of yet, read exactly what you believe concerning the gospel.
