Primer

Gretchen and I had tentative plans to go see Primer, and indie movie by Shane Carruth, with Chris and Jenny on Monday night. Those plans fell through but Gretchen and I were still going to go see it, at the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro (the film is only showing on a handful of screens, and mostly for one-night engagements). I checked the Carolina Theater web site today, and there was no mention of the movie. I called, and they said the movie isn’t playing there at any time. So the movie’s official site had some bad information on it, which is unavoidable at times. But I’m still disappointed.
Times like these make me root for Mark Cuban’s strategy to release films into multiple channels simultaneously (ie releasing a movie to theaters, DVD, HBO, and broadcast networks all simultaneously rather than staggering the film’s release to the various distribution channels).

sorry, bro. we kind of let you down on skipping out of town. i want to see it too, obviously. one of my best friends has a non-speaking part near the end of the film. i too like cuban’s idea and his basketball team. oh, you asked for comments re: your blog look. the links on the sides are, at least on my browser, rather light and hard to see. peace.
