As part of a rookie hazing ritual, Denney was wearing a Southern California cheerleader’s outfit, including the high white boots, on the trip to the airport.

“Our trainers said the boots may have saved Kyle from further injury,” Swain said.

You know he has to be hating it right now. He probably thought, “Yeah, I have to wear this cheerleader uniform. But it’s just hazing, and it’s just on the bus to the airport. Nobody but the guys on the team will ever know.”
